Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that Armenia does not oppose the so-called “Zangezur Corridor,” emphasizing that progress in Turkish-Armenian relations primarily depends on reaching an agreement between Yerevan and Baku.
Uraloglu noted that he held talks with both former and current Armenian transport ministers and received assurances that Armenia does not intend to obstruct the implementation of the corridor project.
“Azerbaijan and Armenia must first sit at the negotiating table and reach an agreement. After that, Turkey will be able to take steps regarding Armenia within the framework of good-neighborly relations. This is also the position of our President,” he said.
The Turkish minister emphasized the strategic significance of the corridor:
“This route is of great value to us. It will also provide direct transport links with the Turkic world and Turkic states.”
