Trump says he watched capture of Maduro and wife “like watching TV show”

U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News that he watched the nighttime capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife “literally, like I was watching a television show.”

“If you would have seen the, the speed, the violence, it was an amazing thing,” Trump said. He praised his team for what he described as an “amazing job,” adding that “there’s nobody else could have done anything like it.”

According to Trump, Maduro and his wife are en route to New York.

The U.S. president also said that charges have been filed against them in New York and that they will be transported to the state by helicopter and ship.

“They killed a lot of people and a lot of American people, even people in their own country,” Trump said.
