We will continue to work towards reaching an agreement with Azerbaijan. Armenia agrees to sign the already agreed points, we expect that we will carry out work and it will be possible to sign it. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, stated this in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“There are points [in the draft of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan] that we have negotiated and have not yet been agreed upon. But many [other] points have been agreed upon, and we [i.e. Armenia] want to sign those agreed points. The experience of recent years shows that it is possible to move forward by dividing the problems and solving them in parts; that is, to sign the currently agreed points, and then try to reach an agreement on the remaining points. Now, Armenia has sent the tenth version of the draft peace treaty to Azerbaijan, is waiting for their response,” said Grigoryan.
And reflecting on the matter of unblocking of regional communications, the secretary of the Security Council of Armenia said: “The Prime Minister has said that the private company may have a presence, but all overseeing will be carried out by the state bodies of Armenia. Armenia’s toward the matter of unblocking has been the same in the past four to five years, the unblocking is possible if the principle of equality, reciprocity, as well as existing infrastructures operate within the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the given country. Unblocking cannot happen with any corridor logic. We see the support of some countries for this position; we also see the approach of some countries, which are against the interests of Armenia.”
