“The fact that trains from Russia are arriving in Armenia via Azerbaijan is truly a historic event. As you have already noted, new opportunities are opening up,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the informal CIS summit in St. Petersburg on December 22.
“As you mentioned, new opportunities are emerging,” he added.
“The agenda for restoring some other railway sections in our country has also matured. I am referring, in particular, to the Ijevan, Yeraskh, and Akhurik sectors. These are railways connecting Armenia with Azerbaijan and Turkey. Quite active political processes are underway.”
