Nikol Pashinyan on cycling, making scrambled eggs and social media activity
“All the institutions of our country work even when I ride a bicycle”. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with Public TV Company.
“Therefore, when we talk about institutional establishment, it is institutional establishment that institutions work. And the work of the institutions does not depend on the Prime Minister being at the “ console” at the moment, because at that moment the question arises: whether the Prime Minister is sleeping or the presumption is that he should not sleep.
If the prime minister is asleep, how do the institutions in the country work?” – he added.
Nikol Pashinyan also commented on the talk in society that the Prime Minister of a country with security problems is riding a bicycle or cooking scrambled eggs and posting videos on social networks.
“Eggs being cooked, bicycling. In fact, we have to realize, and I’m certainly not just talking in the threat plane, but in a broader sense, that we are following a strategy today, and one of the most important nuances of that strategy is that we realize that there are forces in the region and outside the region that have set out to shape a new escalation, to generate a new escalation.
And a crucial part of these escalations, roughly speaking, pardon the non-political, non-diplomatic language, begins with a verbal altercation. And in many cases, known forces are trying to drag us into this altercation, and traditionally we have been guided by this logic, and this has been used to blow up the region. Our strategy is this: we will not allow escalation to happen, and we will create and respond to everything in such a way that escalation is ruled out, that war is ruled out, or at least legitimacy would not be such a precise word, its legitimization or preparing the ground for it would be ruled out. And I think that the fact that in 2024 we had the calmest situation in the last 15-20 years is also related to this strategy,” he said.
