Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Saturday night attended a mourning ceremony marking the anniversary of Imam Hussein’s martyrdom, Mehr reported.

The ceremony was held on the grounds of his office in central Tehran.

“The Zionist regime and Washington threatened the life of the leader of the Islamic Revolution, which drew widespread condemnation from Muslims around the world. Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi and Grand Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani issued fatwas against threats to Ayatollah Khamenei’s life, declaring those who threaten the Leader as enemies of God whose blood should be shed by Muslims as an Islamic duty. As seen in the video, those attending the funeral, which also includes government officials, warmly greeted the Leader,” the media outlet reported.

It is worth mentioning this is the first appearance of Ayatollah Khamenei in public after the war with Israel.
