Iranian ambassador: Group of analysts continue the Western vision in Armenia

A telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Armenia took place this morning, Iranian ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami told a press conference Monday.

“Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan expressed his condolences on the death of the Iranian spiritual leader, as well as Iranian citizens. Also, Mr. Mirzoyan noted that Armenia is ready to provide any humanitarian assistance to Iran in case of need. Today, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan also sent his condolence message to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Words of support were also heard from various representatives of Armenia’s civil society, activists, and people from various circles, both in Armenia and Iran. This is not surprising for us at all, since the Armenian people and the Iranian people are two friendly peoples, who should always be by each other’s side in difficult times.

However, I cannot help but express my regret at the illogical and not very well-founded words of a group of analysts who continue the Western vision of Armenia. I cannot understand the motives for such behavior and conduct as to what motivates them. But I can advise them to come out and change this wrong direction.

We and you are friends, so it is simply regrettable for us that a group of analysts simply repeat Zionist [i.e. Israeli] views. However, we can say that they are a minority,” the Iranian ambassador to Armenia stated.
