Iran reports 3 security forces, 1 civilian killed in border clash

Three Iranian law enforcement personnel and one civilian were killed during an armed clash at a checkpoint in the Fahraj County of southeastern Iran, local authorities informed, Mehr reports.

According to a statement from the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces, released in Qods, the incident occurred early Monday morning when armed elements clashed with law enforcement representatives at a checkpoint near the entrance to Fahraj County in Kerman province.

The armed clash took place on the Zahedan–Fahraj motorway.

Authorities have stated that the case is currently under investigation by security and law enforcement agencies.
