Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzade, and Chairman of Belarus’ State Military-Industrial Committee, Dmitry Pantus, discussed plans to deepen bilateral defense, technical, and industrial cooperation within the framework of shared interests, reports Tasnim.

During their meeting in Tehran, both sides explored ways to expand collaboration in defense, technical, and industrial areas, emphasizing the need to strengthen ties based on mutual interests and enhance technological cooperation.

The Iranian defense minister expressed satisfaction with the growing relations between Tehran and Minsk, stating that Iran welcomes expanded defense and industrial cooperation with friendly and independent countries, and that Belarus holds a special place in these partnerships.

Pantus, for his part, highlighted Iran’s extensive capabilities in the industrial and technological sectors and confirmed his country’s interest in developing joint efforts in research and development, defense equipment production, and industrial experience exchange.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides underscored their shared views on many regional and international issues and expressed readiness to develop a roadmap for future cooperation, accelerate the implementation of joint projects, and utilize bilateral, regional, and international mechanisms, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
