British pop star Dua Lipa was the first headliner of Glastonbury 2024, as she took to the Pyramid Stage on Friday night (Friday 28 June) at Worthy Farm.
Across the weekend, an eclectic lineup will perform on the sprawling festival’s various stages – but organiser Emily Eavis has poured water on any rumours of “big surprises”.
Here is the full Glastonbury 2024 lineup and set times.
Ahead of Dua Lipa’s performance, Sugababes’ set on the West Holts stage drew such huge crowds there were reports of fans fainting during their show, while security blocked others from entering in an attempt to reduce overcrowding.
Dua Lipa, 28, performed from her catalogue of hit songs, from Elton John collaboration “Cold Heart” to “New Rules” and “Training Season”.
Earlier this week, Glastonbury organisers confirmed they will not be showing England’s Euro 2024 round-of-16 game during the festival.
If you’re following from home, the BBC has shared its schedule of coverage for the weekend.

1719614006Just envisaging the hordes trying to make it to Charli XCX’s set Charli XCX is kicking off her DJ set at Levels in about an hour. Apparently it’s about a 7,000-capacity space, so that will be… interesting. Not sure why she’s not on the Pyramid Stage, they could have just had her go on after Dua and throw one humungous after-party. Hopefully it won’t be as mad a crush as Sugababes on West Holts earlier.

1719613362Dua Lipa sings Elton John collaboration ‘Cold Heart’ after snubbing veteran singer last yearElton John seemed discernably unhappy at the fact that Dua Lipa wasn’t present to sing “Cold Heart”, their No 1 collaboration of 2021, at his farewell show at Glastonbury last year.
Dua now pulls it out at her own headline slot, playing John’s vocals but not mentioning him by name at all as she sings along. Hmmm. It’d be a shame if she’s allowed their relationship to go chilly, given he was one of her biggest champions from the beginning.

1719613285Was 2004 the worst Glastonbury ever? If you were an Oasis fan, yesTwenty years ago, the Manchester band headlined Worthy Farm for the second and last time. Mark Beaumont looks back at the ill-fated show, which has gone down in history as one of their worst, and argues that it marked the beginning of the end for Liam and Noel Gallagher’s Britpop dream.

1719612408IDLES bring out Danny Brown to perform “Pop Pop Pop” on the Other StageEmily Eavis said no big surprises, but I’d say that’s a pretty good one for IDLES fans.
Check out the Indy’s recent interview with them here:

1719611109Dua Lipa brings out Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker for cover of “The Less I Know the Better”Interesting that Dua’s chosen to bring out not Calvin Harris, with whom she worked on one of her biggest hits, “One Kiss”, but Kevin Parker of Tame Impala fame, who produced her latest record Radical Optimism. Nice to hear “The Less I Know The Better” from their 2015 album Currents, even if their voices don’t really harmonise particularly well. Dua definitely off-key here.
While you’re here, have a read of Helen Brown’s five-star review of Radical Optimism.
