Germany Sends Diplomatic Note to China

Germany has sent a diplomatic note to Beijing regarding China’s ban on exporting microchips to Europe. According to Bild, the ban has caused serious disruptions for German industry, affecting the supply of components essential to the automotive and electronics sectors.

The crisis began after the nationalization of Dutch company Nexperia, owned by Chinese investors, following which Beijing halted semiconductor exports to the European Union.

German Economy Minister Katharina Reichen confirmed that Berlin has officially sent a note to China’s Minister of Commerce.

“We have been hit hard by the microchip shortage, as Germany’s economy depends on these supplies. We are committed to rapid de-escalation and the resumption of exports,” Reichen said.
