FM, Lithuania colleague discuss prospects of deepening Armenia-EU partnership

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan on Friday held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kestutis Budrys.

Mirzoyan cordially congratulated his Lithuanian counterpart on assuming the aforesaid office, and emphasized his readiness to continue developing—through joint efforts—the already strong cooperation between the two countries, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

The interlocutors touched upon the multifaceted agenda of the partnership between Armenia and Lithuania, which includes a range of domains of mutual interest—from democratic reforms to active sectoral cooperation and the strengthening of resilience.

Mirzoyan and Budrys discussed as well prospects for deepening the partnership between Armenia and the European Union (EU), and highlighted the continued support provided by Lithuania in this regard. Both parties stressed the interest in expanding cooperation between Armenia and the Nordic-Baltic countries (NB8), too.

The foreign ministers of Armenia and Lithuania exchanged views also on regional developments. In this connection, Mirzoyan presented the efforts towards normalization of relations with Armenia’s neighbors, establishing lasting peace in the South Caucasus, and effectively overcoming the challenges in this way.
