Colby: Pentagon has begun reviewing the deployment of the U.S. Army in Europe

The Pentagon has begun reviewing the deployment of U.S. Army personnel in Europe. This was announced on July 28 by Elbridge Colby, the Pentagon’s Under Secretary for Policy.

“The result of this will be to accelerate NATO’s transition to a stronger, fairer, and more sustainable alliance, continuing the positive changes achieved by President [U.S. President Donald] Trump and his team, who encouraged and enabled allies to take the lead in European arms operations,” the deputy secretary wrote on the social network X.

In addition, he noted that the review will ensure that U.S. forces in Europe are aligned with the 2026 National Defense Strategy.
