At least 19,734 civilian facilities have been damaged in US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran, including 16,191 residential buildings, Iranian Red Crescent Society spokesman Mojtaba Khaledi told Press TV.
The healthcare sector has been particularly hard hit, with 77 medical facilities put out of action, including hospitals and pharmacies. Some strikes reportedly occurred while surgeons were performing operations.
Additionally, 16 Red Crescent centers and 65 educational institutions have sustained serious damage.
The president of Bushehr University of Medical Sciences reported that US and Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday caused significant damage to a medical center. The intensity of the explosions damaged buildings and critical medical equipment, forcing a temporary suspension of the hospital’s operations. He added that staff managed to evacuate patients to another medical facility where treatment continues without interruption.
