High-ranking clergy who met with PM Pashinyan issue online petition for electing new Catholicos of All Armenians

The bishops and archbishops who met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently have prepared an online petition demanding the resignation of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II.

“Petition to retire Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, elect a Catholicosal locum tenens, and organize new Catholicosal elections

“I join the petition to retire Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, elect a Catholicosal locum tenens, and organize new Catholicosal elections,” the petition reads.

The petition—in Armenian—was posted on the website Barenorogum.am, and it was launched a few days ago.
