Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday issued a message on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

 “Today we honor the memory of 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide, 110 years ago, by staying vigilant against all forms of violence and intolerance. Greeks and Armenians are connected by shared experiences over time. After all, many victims of the persecution found shelter here [in Greece]. They became part of our national fabric and a creative arm of our society. This is why the timeless togetherness of the two peoples for Truth, Dignity, and Justice is indestructible,” noted the Greek premier.

This year marks the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Every year on April 24, hundreds of thousands of Armenians silently march to the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan, and lay flowers in memory of the approximately 1.5 million victims of this tragedy.
