Dancing With the Stars fans have already begun criticizing the new cast before they\u2019ve even stepped into the ballroom.<\/p>\n
Unveiled Wednesday on Good Morning America, the full cast includes Step Up star Jenna Dewan, Save the Last Dance actor Julia Stiles and Glee alum Harry Shum Jr. \u2014 all of whom have notable backgrounds in dance.<\/p>\n
Dewan, 45, started her career as a backup dancer on Janet Jackson’s 2001 \u201cAll for You Tour\u201d before landing featured roles in music videos for Christina Aguilera, Pink, Missy Elliott, and NSYNC, among others. She went on to host Jennifer Lopez’s dance competition show World of Dance and also served as a judge on the 2022 CBS series Come Dance With Me.<\/p>\n
Stiles, 45, performed an iconic tabletop dance in the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You and most of the dance sequences in the 2001 hit film Save the Last Dance, in which her character is an aspiring ballerina. Shum Jr., 44, played Mike Chang on the hit Fox series Glee. Similarly to Dewan, he started his career as a backup dancer for Lopez, Beyonc\u00e9 and Mariah Carey, and also appeared in the Step Up franchise.<\/p>\n
After the DWTS cast was announced, fans voiced their disapproval on social media, calling out the fact that the trio already have some degree of dance training.<\/p>\n

Another wrote on Threads: \u201cumm.. as much as I love DWTS, some of these \u2018stars\u2019 are already dancers of some sort.. Jenna and Julia for example.\u201d<\/p>\n
