Based on the results of two visits, the UN mission did not see the destruction of civilian infrastructure in Stepanakert due to shelling by Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n
According to Azerbaijani media, \u201cthe UN mission for the coordination of humanitarian affairs completed a week-long mission to Azerbaijan and Armenia to identify the urgent needs of people in the Karabakh region, as well as refugees in Armenia.\u201d<\/p>\n
The mission was led by Director of the Coordination Division Ramesh Rajasingham, accompanied by UN Resident Coordinator Vladanka Andreeva and representatives of UN agencies in Karabakh.<\/p>\n
\u201cCivilian infrastructure and homes \u2013 such as schools, the main hospital, and apartment buildings \u2013 appeared intact. The mission did not visit any rural villages during this first trip, but these areas will be visited in the coming days and weeks,\u201d reads a press release by the agency.<\/p>\n
