The fallout from Boris Johnson\u2019s resignation as an MP leads Sunday\u2019s newspapers as they start looking at what happens next.<\/p>\n
While some focus on the impact on his decision with by-elections and beyond to a general election, other titles concentrate on the turmoil in the Conservative Party.<\/p>\n
The Sunday Mirror\u2019s message is simple, as it concentrates on Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer\u2019s call for Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to \u201cget a backbone: and call a general election\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Sunday Express is one of several titles to predict Mr Johnson will be back, but says Mr Sunak has been warned of an \u201celectoral slaughter\u201d as Nigel Adams\u2019 resignation means they are now facing three by-elections.<\/p>\n
Sunday People has a simple message from Mr Johnson on its front pages, saying \u201cI\u2019ll be back\u201d, with the possibility of him standing in long-time ally Nadine Dorries\u2019 former seat after her resignation.<\/p>\n
The fallout from Mr Adams\u2019 resignation as MP for Selby and Ainsty leads The Independent which says the Tories are \u201cin turmoil\u201d.<\/p>\n
And The Sunday Telegraph says the resignations are part of \u201ca co-ordinated attack on Rishi Sunak\u2019s administration\u201d with more departures on the cards.<\/p>\n
But The Times says any \u201cTory mutiny\u201d is waning with backing for the former prime minister evaporating. It also says he is \u201cunlikely to seek a new seat\u201d.<\/p>\n
That view is echoed in The Observer which says MPs have told Mr Sunak that his predecessor must not be allowed to stand again.<\/p>\n
The Mail on Sunday sums up the affair with the simple message \u201cIt\u2019s war\u201d, as it describes a \u201cduel for the soul\u201d of the party.<\/p>\n
