Kim Kardashian has spoken candidly about the downsides of being in the public eye, with the reality star revealing the one place she\u2019s been to where people didn\u2019t recognise her.<\/p>\n
The 42-year-old opened up about her fame and career during Monday\u2019s episode of Jay Shetty\u2019s On Purpose podcast. Speaking to Kardashian, the book author asked her if there was anywhere she\u2019d been to where people hadn\u2019t recognised her.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen was the last time you went somewhere where someone didn\u2019t know who you were?\u201d he asked. \u201cOr actually, was there a moment when someone said to you: \u2018Who are you? What do you do?\u2019 Like when was the last time you had a reaction like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
In response, Kardashian revealed the one place where she seems to go unnoticed: Japan. She also praised the way that people in the country were mindful of each other\u2019s privacy.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone is really respectful, and even if they might recognise you, they don\u2019t ask for photos,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a really amazing experience. I think it\u2019s important.\u201d<\/p>\n
While the Skims founder noted that she\u2019s grateful for everything she has, she also said that she appreciated her experience in Japan, especially as the mother of four children: North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, five, and Psalm, four, who she shares with ex-husband Kanye West.<\/p>\n
\u201cListen, I love my life. I love everything that comes along with it,\u201d she said. \u201cI am not complaining. But a little glimpse of that I think, especially for the little ones, is so good.\u201d<\/p>\n
Shetty then asked Kardashian if she prioritises some time to herself in the midst of her busy and public career. In response, she said that she has her alone time in the mornings, as she gets up early to do her workouts.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I\u2019m quiet and I\u2019m in my zone, that\u2019s my mental health check,\u201d she said. \u201cEvery morning, I love my workout. It keeps me sane, I can\u2019t say that enough.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also revealed that, after dropping her children off at school, she spends 20 minutes listening to music in the car, which she referred to as her \u201calone time\u201d.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere in the interview, Kardashian opened up about how her children are impacted by their mother\u2019s fame, with the reality star revealing that they\u2019re now used to being surrounded by the paparazzi.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think they grew up seeing the cameras and they grew up seeing that, even as babies,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019d walk out and there\u2019d be paparazzi, so it\u2019s not really something that they acknowledge a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, she also acknowledged that her oldest child North doesn\u2019t hesitate to speak up when she wants some space from the paparazzi. For example, Kardashian\u2019s daughter went viral last year when she held up a sign to tell photographers to \u201cstop\u201d filming her at a fashion show in Paris.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy daughter\u2019s really vocal. She\u2019ll tell them when she doesn\u2019t want them around and to leave her alone and to stop,\u201d The Kardashians star explained. \u201cI love that they used their little voices.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Kardashian, although her children have grown up in the spotlight, they still have a \u201cnormal life,\u201d which includes spending time with their cousins, including the children of her sisters Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey also have such a normal life, and such a different life away from all of that too,\u201d the billionaire shapewear mogul said. \u201cThat\u2019s why I love that my sisters and I all had babies at the same time so they can be with each other and have these experiences together.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
