Donald Trump repeatedly attacked a woman who accused him of rape in a newly unsealed deposition.<\/p>\n
The former president described writer E Jean Carroll as a \u201cnut job\u201d and rejected claims that he assaulted her the dressing room of a luxury department store in New York City in in the mid 1990s.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe said that I did something to her that never took place,\u201d Mr Trump said in\u00a0 testimony taken under oath that was made public on Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was no anything. I know nothing about this nut job.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a heated series of exchanges with Ms Carroll\u2019s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan, Mr Trump said he knew what he had intitially said about the writer\u2019s allegation was not \u201cpolitically correct\u201d.<\/p>\n
Ms Carroll\u2019s had alleged in a 2019 memoir that Mr Trump had raped her in either 1995 or 1996 in the dressing room of the Bergdorf Goodman store in Manhatttan, close to Trump Tower. <\/p>\n
In 2019, she sued him for defamation about he notoriously denied her claims by saying she was \u201cnot his type\u201d. <\/p>\n
After a law was changed to extend the statute limitations to cases of sexual assault, the writer added to her lawsuit an allegation of rape.<\/p>\n
Mr Trump told Ms Kaplan: \u201cBut I\u2019ll say it anyway. She\u2019s accusing me of rape, a woman that I have no idea who she is.\u00b7 It came out of the blue. She\u2019s accusing me of raping her, the worst thing you can do, the worst charge.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cAnd you know it\u2019s not true too. You\u2019re a political operative also. You\u2019re a disgrace. But she\u2019s accusing me and so are you of rape, and it never took place.\u201d<\/p>\n
