Olivia Attwood has opened up about her \u201cmassively frustrating\u201d departure from I\u2019m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.<\/p>\n
The former Love Island contestant entered the Australian jungle earlier this month, but had to leave the series just one day in \u201cas a precautionary measure\u201d in order to \u201cundergo some medical checks\u201d.<\/p>\n
Attwood has since revealed that a routine blood test, which all the jungle campmates undergo randomly throughout the show, disclosed that she was dangerously anaemic.<\/p>\n
Results also showed concerningly low sodium and potassium levels, which prompted ITV staff to take Attwood to A&E, despite the star maintaining she felt \u201cabsolutely fine\u201d. Further tests at the hospital showed up normal.<\/p>\n
Appearing on This Morning on Monday (14 November), Attwood revealed that the show\u2019s production team considered sending her back to the jungle, but ultimately decided against it due to an issue with \u201cinsurance\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cConversations went on through the night with production,\u201d she told hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, adding: \u201cI think it was an insurance thing. It was a collective decision.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said that producers felt they \u201cwouldn\u2019t be covered\u201d if Attwood\u2019s health deteriorated on the series as \u201cit had already been flagged up\u201d.<\/p>\n
Attwood, who is an I\u2019m a Celebrity superfan, said she was \u201cmassively\u201d frustrated with the decision as \u201cit\u2019s been five years in the making\u201d; she was the first ever Love Island star permitted to appear on the series.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know it sounds kind of self indulgent, but I think when you come off a reality show, you get a huge opportunity, but you can be put in a box and I was looking forward to showing a different side to myself. I am not a quitter \u2013 I was loving it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Attwood also cleared up rumours that she left the show due to discovering she was pregnant, stating: \u201c\u2018Olivia Attwood pregnant\u2019 was trending on the internet \u2013 it\u2019s not that, I can assure you.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Willoughby asked if she could take part in the series in 2023 instead, Attwood said: \u201cI daren\u2019t approach that question yet. I think it\u2019ll be a logistical thing of whether we can make it work. I\u2019d love to. But the problem we have is I\u2019ve got my others shows and documentaries all scheduled up until this point next year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Attwood said that, while she\u2019s \u201cgrateful\u201d she\u2019s well, it \u201cmakes it harder having to accept\u201d having to quit the show. \u201cThere are worse things happening in the world. but yeah, I\u2019m gutted,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
When asked how she would have acted around former health secretary Matt Hancock, Attwood said: \u201cIt\u2019s a difficult one. When you\u2019re living in those environemnts, you have to take things carefully. I would have done it with humour, given him a bit of stick. <\/p>\n
\u201cBut, even though it is funny, a lot of what happened is not funny. If you\u2019re someone who lost a relative while he\u2019s snogging his face off, it\u2019s not funny is it?\u201d<\/p>\n
