Suella Braverman, who is back at home secretary just six days after resigning over a security breach, deserves a second chance, Nadhim Zahawi has said amid backlash over her reappointment.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe admitted her mistake, she resigned. A new prime minister came in, looked at the information and decided that he wants to give her a second chance,\u201d the Tory party chair told Sky News.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that is the right decision. Redemption is a good thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Braverman resigned last week after she was caught sending a Tory backbencher an official document from a personal email account and accidently copied in another Tory MP\u2019s aide who raised the alarm.<\/p>\n
Sir Jake Berry, who was Tory party chair at the time, claimed the home secretary had committed “multiple breaches of the ministerial code” in an interview last night. <\/p>\n
He said she was responsible for a \u201creally serious breach\u201d relating to confidential government discussions of cybersecurity.<\/p>\n

If the petition, started by Lanark and Hamilton East MP Angela Crawley, receives enough support it could lead to a debate on the issue in Westminster.<\/p>\n
The SNP MP said it will allow the public to \u201ctell the government directly how strongly they feel\u201d on the matter.<\/p>\n
Ms Crawley\u2019s Private Member\u2019s Bill seeks to grant three days of statutory paid leave to parents who experience a miscarriage before 24 weeks of pregnancy.<\/p>\n
It will have its second reading in the House of Commons in December.<\/p>\n
The call comes after a joint letter from 50 cross-party MPs was last month sent to then prime minister Liz Truss and cabinet minister Jacob Rees-Mogg urging the government to lend its support.<\/p>\n
Ms Crawley said: \u201cThere is political support at Westminster to introduce statutory paid miscarriage leave but the UK government have yet to recognise this.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy launching this petition, we are giving the public the chance to show their support for paid miscarriage leave and to tell the government directly how strongly they feel and how important this issue is.<\/p>\n
If the UK government get behind the Miscarriage Leave Bill, we can take a positive step towards eliminating the stigma associated with miscarriage and pregnancy loss as well as properly supporting parents who experience miscarriage before 24 weeks.<\/p>\n
