Cardi B has taken offence to Madonna\u2019s claims that she paved the way for artists like the rapper and Miley Cyrus.<\/p>\n
The singer initially made the claims on Instagram on Saturday (22 October) in reference to her 1992 book, Sex.<\/p>\n
Sex received wide critisim at the time for it\u2019s controversial content which included photos of the star naked: \u201cIn addition to photos of me naked, there were photos of men kissing men, woman kissing woman and me kissing everyone,\u201d Madonna wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cI spent the next few years being interviewed by narrow minded people who tried to shame me for empowering myself as a woman. I was called a whore, a witch, a heretic and the devil,\u201d Madonna wrote of the reaction from the media at the time.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow Cardi B can sing about her WAP. Kim Kardashian can grace the cover of any magazine with her naked ass, and Miley Cyrus can come in like a wrecking ball.\u201d<\/p>\n
She concluded: \u201cYou\u2019re welcome b****es,\u201d adding a clown emoji.<\/p>\n
However, the post left Cardi \u2013 who\u2019s previously cited Madonna as a huge inspiration \u2013 unimpressed. On Sunday (23 October) morning, the rapper tweeted in direct response to Madonna\u2019s claims.<\/p>\n
\u201cI literally [paid] this woman homage so many times cause I grew up listening to her\u2026 she can make her point without putting clown emojis and getting slick out the mouth,\u201d Cardi wrote in a since deleted tweet.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese icons really become disappointments once u make it in the industry that\u2019s why I keep to myself,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
The 30-year-old also shared an article written after she met Madonna, in which she calls the star her \u201cidol\u201d. In the article, Cardi also refers to Madonna as a b****, saying: \u201cThe best part about it is she was everything I thought she would be a liberal kick ass feminist b*tch.\u201d<\/p>\n

Responding to Madonna\u2019s fans, Cardi tweeted: \u201cI know exactly what she said and I understand but it\u2019s about THE TONE \u2026Calling me b****es and putting clown emojis ? The f***,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n
However, Cardi\u2019s original tweets have now been deleted and all the issues seem to have been resolved after Cardi said she\u2019d spoken to Madonna.<\/p>\n
\u201cI talked to Madonna\u2026 It was beautiful\u2026 Have a great day and drive safely yallll,\u201d she wrote on Twitter on Sunday (23 October).<\/p>\n
