President Donald Trump has ordered to pause the US military assistance to Ukraine, according to a White House official who wanted to remain anonymous, report several media.
“President Trump has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution,” according to the respective statement, AFP reports.
Bloomberg and Fox News report that this pause will last until Trump is convinced that the Ukrainian leadership shows that it is seeking peace.
“This is not permanent termination of aid, it’s a pause,” the Trump administration representative said, Fox News reports.
And according to Bloomberg, this decision will affect all the US military equipment that was not delivered to Ukraine, including a transit weapons or those waiting for transit via Poland.
