U.S. official told Fox News that the Pentagon is moving more fighter jets to the Middle East and expanding the presence of aircraft already in the Middle East .
These include F-16, F-22 and F-35 fighter jets.
This comes a day after the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier strike group is heading to the Middle East from the South China Sea.
Nimitz was previously scheduled to replace the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier strike group, which had been with the US Navy for several months, but now both strike groups will be in the Middle East at the same time.
