The UAE could join an “international initiative” to ensure security in the Strait of Hormuz, said UAE President’s Diplomatic Adviser Anwar Gargash, according to The National.
“I see that we, for example, can play a certain role together with other countries in ensuring the security of the Strait of Hormuz,” Gargash said at the Council on Foreign Relations think tank. “I believe this will be part of what is shaping up as an international initiative led by the United States. I think this is not only the responsibility of the United States, but also, in our view, of Asian countries, regional countries, and European countries.”
