Russia has consistently supported the unblocking of all communications, Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a press briefing on Wednesday.

According to her, Armenia’s railways have been under the management of the South Caucasus Railway company for more than 20 years, and during this time the aforesaid Russian company has consistently fulfilled all the terms of the agreement.

“They may have forgotten about it in Yerevan. Russia is making significant investments in [Armenian railways’] infrastructure and rolling stock, providing a large number of jobs, which, in my opinion, should also be taken into account by those who want to raise this matter in Armenia,” the Russian MFA spokesperson said.

Zakharova added that Russian operators do not deprive Armenia of competitive advantages, but, on the contrary, create them.
