Ukraine and its allies are in illusions and dream of inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia, said President of Russia Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.
According to him, the United States is not directly discussing a peace plan for Ukraine with Russia, because Kyiv is against it.
He added that Russia is ready for peace negotiations and to solve the problems in Ukraine by peaceful means.
At the same time, he explained that “the inevitability of a repetition of the situation in Kupyansk in other parts of the front suits Russia.”
