The peace plan of US President Donald Trump for Ukraine was discussed before the meeting in Alaska, said President of Russia Vladimir Putin, RBC reports.

“During the discussion, the American side asked us to make certain compromises,” he said.

During the negotiations, Moscow confirmed that it agreed with the peace proposals, the president noted. However, after the negotiations in Alaska, there was a pause on the American side due to Ukraine’s refusal of the plan proposed by Trump.

Putin suggested that this is why a “modernized plan” with 28 points appeared. He noted that Russia has this plan.

“I believe that it also can be laid as the basis for a final peaceful settlement. But this text is not being discussed with us in detail,” the president said.
