With the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, the “Ardini” Educational, Cultural and Tourism Development Foundation held “The Magic of Lavash” festival in Arevik village of Shirak Province, which started in 2023.
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am that this year’s festival took place within the framework of the “Lavash: A symbol of unity and power” project. It was dedicated to the tenth anniversary of inscribing the tradition of Armenian lavash bread baking on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO in 2014.
The works of painters who cooperated with the aforesaid foundation, as well as works of forcibly displaced artists from Nagorno Karabakh were also presented at the exhibition.
The “Magic of Lavash” festival is aimed not only at glorifying Armenian lavash bread and the women bakers who prepare it, but also at revitalizing the community, engaging the youth in the process of preserving intangible cultural heritage, and promoting the sustainable development of the community.
