During the meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union summit in Minsk, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko touched upon the absence of the Armenian delegation. In his opinion, it may be related to the existing problems within the association itself.

“Why did Armenia take such a position? Probably, not everything is in order here, we can’t dismiss it. If something happens, only one side cannot be to blame,“ he said,” said Lukashenko.

The head of state also drew attention to the setback in the realization of the EAEU goals. According to him, 18 key points of the union’s strategy remain unfulfilled by 2025.

“However, there is no special desire to delve into these complex issues, but we must force ourselves. If we tread on the ground, we will be overtaken, trampled and others will move forward. The Union should become as attractive as possible,” emphasized the Belarusian leader.

EAEU Summit started in Minsk on June 26, attended by presidents, in addition to Lukashenko: Russia – Vladimir Putin, Kazakhstan – Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyzstan – Sadyr Zhaparov.  Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan participates in the summit via video link.
