At the request of the Coordinating Council of French-Armenian Organizations (CCAF), mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo came up with an initiative, calling on the regional communities of France to organize a humanitarian convoy to Nagorno-Karabakh that is besieged since December 12, 2022, Franck Papazian wrote on Facebook.

The program is funded by the Ile-de-France, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, Hauts-de-France, Occitanie, Pays de la Loire, and Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azure regions of France and many cities in the country.

Anne Hidalgo, Xavier Bertrand, Bruno Retailleau, Jeanne Barseghian, as well as Patrick Karam and Michele Rubirola have decided to physically accompany this convoy that is expected to reach the Lachin corridor on the afternoon of August 30.

Also, CCAF asks the French and European authorities to use special diplomatic measures so that this convoy of 10 trucks with essential goods pass through the checkpoint set by Azerbaijan and reach their destination.

As reported earlier, the idea of sending a French humanitarian convoy was first announced by Laurent Wauquiez, President of the Regional Council of Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes of France, in Yerevan in March.
