US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that another American “armada” was moving towards Iran, and he hopes Tehran will make a deal with Washington.

“There’s another beautiful [US] armada floating beautifully toward Iran right now, so we’ll see,” Trump said at a rally in the US state of Iowa. “I hope they [i.e. Iran] make a deal.”

Earlier, Trump had said that a US “armada” was nearby Iran.

“We have a huge fleet near Iran, and it’s bigger than Venezuela’s fleet,” Trump had said in an interview with Axios this week.

He added: “They [i.e. Iran] want to make a deal. I know so. They called on numerous occasions. They want to talk.”

Earlier this week, the United States Central Command announced that a US strike group, led by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, had entered the Middle East, but it did not disclose its exact location.
